This is just a reminder that season 4 is only 1 week away. With team entries closing on the 22th March Sunday it's still not to late for those looking to form new teams. We currently have 8 teams already signed up in what looks be our closest season yet. With many strong teams already battling it out for the top spot before the season has even begun.

Who will reign supreme? Will asc . be able to reclaim their season 1 glory? Can Hungry Together finally be the bride or are they doomed to be the bridesmaid forever? Can AUS, as the oldest clan rise to the challenge or will they get the SHAFT! Stay tuned as this season is only starting to heat up.

Last night marked the last weekly game of the season - and now the finals shall begin. As you can see, we have some tied up scores lines just to make it more interesting!

As such, Zeta Void and A-Team will play a best of five decider to see who makes it into the semi finals (same as format below).

With Envy and Hungry Together tied for first spot, we've decided to let envy take first seed based on their rankings from previous seasons. This means that Envy will play the winner of the A-Team vs Zeta Void in the semi finals.

Hungry Together will play Pi in the other semi final match. Ideally we would like these semi finals to be played over the next week, but we understand that its coming up to the busy end of the year. Could the captains of the teams above please get in contact and sort out your availabilities. Once you find an agreed time, can you post it in the forums so we can try organize streaming.

    The format

For the semis and the A-team Zeta Void decider, the format will be a best of 5.

NB: We're going to do things a little bit differently this season. We're going to try out a veto system for the maps.

    How it works:

    Best of Five Semi Final

    • In turns, teams will veto a map from the map pool below. Each team gets 2 vetos. They take turns in vetoing the maps.
    • From the remaining three maps, admins will randomise them, and two will be picked to be played. The third map is discarded.
    • Should the score be 2-2, there will be a coin toss for the final map.
    • The winner of the coin toss will pick either a map from the unused maps pool or side/race that they want to play, the other team will then pick a map or side/race, depending on what the first team chose.

    The map pool is:

    ns2_summit
    ns2_tram
    ns2_biodome
    ns2_descent
    ns2_caged
    ns2_jambi
    ns2_veil

    Best of Seven Finals

    • In turns, teams will veto a map from the map pool below. Each team gets 1 vetos. They take turns in vetoing the maps. Veto 1, Veto 2.
    • In turns, teams will then pick a map they want to play from the remaining pool. Pick 3, Pick 4.
    • From the remaining three maps, admins will randomise them, and two will be picked to be played. The third map is discarded.
    • Should the score be 3-3, there will be a coin toss for the final map.
    • The winner of the coin toss will pick either a map from the unused pool or side/race that they want to play, the other team will then pick a map or side/race, depending on what the first team chose.

Some exciting games on the horizon. We will keep you posted with stream times should they become available.

We wish the best of luck to all the teams involved in the finals, and would like to thank all the teams for participating in this season. It has been great!

Congratulations to all of you on finishing Season 2. We hope you enjoyed playing, even if some games may have been slightly one sided. HOWEVER, the season is not over yet! Currently, these are the standings on the ladder:

Well done to Envy for topping the ladder at the end of round 9, and sad face for Team Tummy for taking the wooden spoon (but should also be congratulated for making great strides since they started!). Also a big congratulations to everyone for making season 2 worth playing. There were definitely some good matches had, and some great new faces in the local scene that have helped make it all the more enjoyable.

There are 2 semi finals yet to come. The semi finals will be the following:

Rank 1: Envy vs Rank 4: The Bottom End

Rank 2: Hello vs Rank 2: RaZe (tie)

The winner of these two semi finals will face off in Season 2 Grand Finals, which we will bring to you live atwww.twitch.tv/ausns2

But wait, there's more! This season, we are going to be doing a Horizon Brackets Final as well, between teams 5 and 6. We feel that this is a good way of having a showdown between two mid/up & coming teams. This final will be:

Rank 5: Aus vs Rank 6: Intent

We will be updating you with info regarding these matches as soon as they have been scheduled. There will be a break over the Easter period, and we hope that you all enjoy your time off with your 1kg Lindt bunnies. Can captains of the teams involved in the finals and semi finals please contact us (the admin team) so that we can schedule these games after Easter and get them casted too.

Also worth noting is that we will be having some tournaments designed to bridge the gap between season 2 and season 3 that will be running after the season 2 finals have finished. More details on these will be coming soon, but suffice to say, if you were a lower team this season that had an issue with playing some of the higher teams, we will be running some interim tournaments that will address this issue and will be much more rewarding.

    Thanks!

    Hi AusNS2ers!

This is just a friendly reminder that signups for the AusNS2 League Season 2 close this Sunday night at midnight. If you had aspirations of creating a team to compete, i'd suggest doing so and entering as soon as possible. We're currently looking at 9 teams competing which is already more than last season which is awesome! We're also communicating with the SEA communities to see if they can get a team together, as we'd love to have them on board.

Additionally, our very own Seb with the help of our very own bonage has come up with an awesome trailer to build international excitement. Check it out, give it some love, all that jazz. UWE featured it on their homepage so we're already looking at a much higher profile league and more international interest, so get ready to be scrutinised by players all around the world.

    Check out the trailer here:
